APW - Waltham, P.S. Bartlett, Civil War era, Model 1857, 11J, coin silver original HC, white enamel dial, polished spade hour and minute hands, KWKS, gilt mvt, s#74650. This watch is from a production run listed in Waltham factory records as finished in May of 1863.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, good overall gilt tone, scattered small dark spots to barrel bridge, some curved micro-fine scratch striations to area of main plate inside of regulator index, third wheel faux jewel setting has one mismatched (not blued) screw; virtually flawless dial with minuscule nick and minuscule fine scratch to rim of seconds-register hole, minuscule nick to rim of center hole, extremely faint line of hand rub within seconds-register; excellent hands, minute with mild bends, seconds-hand is short; case shows medium wear, some fine scratches to front and rear, scratches to pendant, scattered dings and mild shallow dents to front and rear, reduced engine turning detail with areas of full loss including much of shoulders; tight nickel replacement bow, push shows medium wear; good glass crystal.
